Good to see another CS at CafeBiz today. Sorry I didnt chat longer, I kind of got caught up discussing the best materials for building a sample roaster, and then had to catch a 3:15pm train.
Did you see who won the latte art comp?
Did you get yourself one of those mini pf keyrings?
Unfortunately I didnt see who won the latte art competition, I left fairly early too. My back was killing me - I hadnt sat down since the bus on the way in: ~8am. Damn my dodgy back. There is nothing on their web site about it yet either.
I decided against the mini pf keyring. Thinking back though I should have picked one up, they are pretty neat. I did manage to get a small measuring glass and a decent small milk jug though, I have been after both of these for some time. The milk jug has made my lame attempts at latte art recognizable and I know for sure that I am getting the right amount of coffee in my shots now. Scored some fresh beans too!
I had a fantastic day, I dont remember ever learning so much in such little time. There was a lot of very interesting, knowledgeable and friendly people there. I cant wait for next year.
Youve got to love it when you find other people that share a much higher than average interest in all things coffee.
There are only a few people in Newcastle that Ive found that think my interest in coffee isnt a bit weird When I start mentioning homeroasting with heat guns, owning 5 tampers, spending over $3K on machines, participating in online forums etc there can be some odd looks :-?
