The way I value used goods:
- New from shop: RRP minus 10-30% (negotiate down, on sale, clearance etc)
- New/unused but sold privately: minus 20-40% (eg unwanted gift, no warranty, support, can't take it back etc)
- Lightly used/1-2yrs: minus 30-50%
- Medium usage older than 2yrs: under 50%
I use this for both selling and buying. It's not perfect but it works for me.

Hi Andrew, welcome to the forum. If you search under the Sold and For Sale forum here on the forum - https://coffeesnobs.com.au/forum/mar...dware-for-sale - you will get ones for sale and recent sales. I sold a pl41TEMD with PID , 3 yrs old with a faulty display segment for $500 from memory.
PS You didn't mention age, that machine has been available for a long time so age has a bearing

Value of a second hand machine
Hi,
My wife surprised me on my birthday and bought me a rancilio silvia pro to replace my trusty lelit pl41em. Yay!!!
I've had a quick look online and can't find any for sale second hand but there doesn't seem to be any. Roughly what do well cared for machines sell for compared to what they were new?
Thanks
Andrew
