Nice work. Well done getting the naked basket/portafilter, It really a the key to lifting your espresso quality. Overall the pour looks pretty good.
A few questions (prescription without diagnosis is malpractice):
How many days post roast are the beans? You have quite gassy looking crema so the beans may be quite fresh. Not a biggie though.
How would you describe the flavor?
Is there anything about the pour that you would like to change? e.g. flavor, viscosity
Any idea of the weight you ground or the espresso weight? (not essential but helpful to weight beans going in and espresso out)
If you can shoot a video of your puck prep, that would be helpful.
And if you do shoot a video of your puck prep, it would be great if you shot another video of the pour, this time really showing the bottom of the basket so the holes in the basket are visible.
Notes: The shot starts channelling around the 19 second mark, That means the puck started to break down under the pressure and some parts became less resistant than other parts. It's not a really significant chanelling but not ideal either. That's normally down to puck prep.and a video of your puck prep will help.

as others have said, a bottomless is no different to a normal spouted portafilter other then exposing the bottom to see where you may have issues.
You us ethe same basket and the same dose you would normally use, but if your prep isnt good, it will let you know.
As tompoland has said, post a video up and people will give you suggestions on what to try to correct things

The bottomless doesn't really change anything at all from an extraction point of view - it simply exposes the bottom of the basket so you can more directly observe the extraction, hence the name, and is also easier to keep cleaner. It also allows you to fit larger (in depth) baskets due to not having the spouts in the way. What do you mean by limited success? Are you making a huge mess? If so that suggests you potentially need to work on perfecting your puck prep.

I love mine...... now but it took me a while.
I bought it, used it a couple of times and then put it to the side after deciding I didn't like it. Fast forward three or so years I decided to give it another go and I haven't used anything else since. I even went on to buy one for my Europiccola.
Basket size for the HX is I think 12gm-18gm and I dose it with 18gm. The Europiccola I can't remember what size it is but I dose it with 16gm.

It’s to see how good your espresso making skills are as you can see what is happening in the basket. You want it to come out into a nice stream. If it’s spluttering it means you’ve got channeling in your shot (hint - work on your puck prep).
any basket works with it, so basically use your same routine but in the bottomless.

Bottomless Portafilters
Hey Coffee Snobs,
I recently purchased a new machine which came with a Bottomless Portafilter. I'm interested to see how people are using these. What size basket, how much coffee and what type of coffees. I've had pretty limited success with it so far. Not sure how or why you would use the double (or triple) basket with it.
