Hi all,
This is my firt post here and thought Id share my first roast success that I did yesterday. Up until the other week I was buying brown beans from a reputable seller and was quite happy but have been meaning to roast myself for a little while now so I recently ordered some green Kenya AA. Having read the posts here about Corretto roasters I was halfway there with a breadmaker that was sitting idle in a back cupboard. The missus was only too happy to gain the cupboard space again
. A quick trip to bunnings and $75 later I walked out with a variable temp ryobi heatgun. I still have to sort a way of holding the gun in place but I managed leaning it onto a step ladder as a temporary solution. Not sure of temperatures so a DMM will probably be the next purchase.
Yesterday I set it all up and gave it a go. The process took about 22 minutes as I dont think I had the gun hot enough. Second crack went into almost rolling and I pulled them out. Couldnt wait to try it this morning and im impressed with the result. Im sure it will taste better in the next day or two. Ive attached some pics as well and cant wait to roast again next week. Im hoping I chose a good bean to start off with as I only drink double espressos and I make flat whites for the missus.
Thanks for looking.
