As this bean starts off a much paler colour than others, should I still be aiming for the CS 9/10 colour, or would it generally come out a bit lighter?
Im not sure if its the bean or an environmental factor, but the batch I tried to roast in my popper earlier came out quite pale (6-7 maybe) even though I swear it got into 2nd crack.
The roast did appear to be quite a bit quicker than other roasts I tried over the weekend (Yirg) - but the weather was a lot cooler at the weekend near Cooktown than it is here now in Cairns, so maybe that had an effect too?
