I have a 2kg fire extinguisher handy in case of a fire in my roaster. Its a dry powder one as I could not seem to find where to buy a CO2 one. Dry powder will make a mess of a roaster but a fire makes a bigger mess.

I believe a bucket of water is the preferred method.
5kg CO2.
Bought from a local extinguisher supply company--located the old way--Yellow Pages.
My mother used a dry powder one once. It put the fire out fine--and took 5 days to clean the powder out of every cupboard and off every surface in the house. This is necessary as the powder is corrosive!
My Remington BM was the BM100. I just collected the 2nd hand BM that I won and its a Tiffany BM642. Opened up the cover and I got to say they look exactly alike! Wont be surprised if it was the same factory that made both these (and probably more) brands and just rebadged them differently.
Always have a fire extinguisher handy and first aid kit looking at what is around where you roast ;D ;D
I dont laugh to loud as I dont know what will happen in the future - it may be me confessing my sins to the understanding but sarcastic audience that is Coffeesnobs 8-)
