the worst that can happen is I blow the unit.
NO.... If ya get an over curreny or voltage it can cause other problems....

The fuse is there to protect the user not the device...  Stick the probe in... Turn on unit and then go to select a mode or change the selecter and get SHocked...

Assumptions can Kill...   Many pieces of test equipment have fuses ...  Secondary issue is protect the device. Primary is to protect the user...

DO not use under any circumstance for any thing other than temp...

Use on measuring a voltage etc and your putting ya life at risk.

    Assumptions ?????

Recite the mantra... AND FOLLOW IT.

Fixed it. Found the working probe and it was no longer working. That could only be the unit had developed a fault meaning a blown fuse - meaning somebody has borrowed my meter. Fixed with a piece of wire but that connection is no longer fused ohh well. Will be now only on temperature duty (I do have other meters for other uses.)

Yes that is how i know it isnt working. temperature reading on the multimeter is around 26.1-4 in both boiling water and ice water. if I unplug the probe temp displayed is still in the 26 range.
I know I am connecting it correctly because the bead type probe I have reads the temp correctly.
    Wgere are you ?

PM me... Have a meter and lots of bead types... Gave my probe type away with the HT.

Happy for you to drop over or a quick meet on netural ground ;D

If it is using the blue connector and not directlt pluged in it can cause issues.

    Thermocouple probe not working?

I ordered the Multimeter from C.S and with it came with the bead type and probe type thermocouple. The bead type works fine but is annoying to use (particularly roasting) but the probe type doesnt work at all.

Thinking I had a bung probe I ordered a replacement with my latest bean shipment. It also doesnt work. Am I missing something or have I just had two dud probes?
Working...
