Hi NathanK... glad you are getting in to the home roasting. It is so good to be able to make enough for you needs... Just watch out as friends and family start putting in their orders too ;-)

Just wondering how easy/hard you found it to work out all the information you needed to get going ?

    Hey there all,

I decided to give the home roasting thing a go since I had a bread maker and a heat gun sitting around.  I purchased the DMM from BeanBay and a batch of Sulawesi beans.  The first try, I managed to really burn some beans when the freaking bread maker stopped mixing without warning.  Nevertheless, I was pleasantly surprised with the results.  The second batch was too dark overall and not so good.  The third batch, I amed for more of a medium roast with a smaller batch of beans.  Bingo!  I can see how you can get hooked on this.

For anyone wondering whether or not to give home roasting a try, go for it!  8-)
