    Re: Roast Magazine

Picked up some helpful advice on sample roasting in the current issue.

Heat input, and airflow advice on both air flow and non air flow devices during different roasting stage/times.

I enjoy both Beanscene and Roast Magazine.
It is worth subscribing to both if you enjoy roasting coffee.
If not, then Beanscene is the choice of mag.

I guess it is about time we organised a pick up day but not many getting beans delivered here these days.
Hey Chris, dont give up being pickup point. Ill always have my beans delivered to you when I know Ill be coming thru Sydney or someone is coming in my direction. And, Ill always be up for a party even when unflatering photos  get posted on the Forum, urgh! Will be in Sydney at some stage soon because husband cleaned the Compak (just love him) and now it wont grind properly and rather than be upset I bought a Sunbeam as a temporary replacement, and have to say Im very very happy with it Now need to take the Compak to someone who knows what theyre doing. Have any suggestions?

    Re: Roast Magazine

    Thanks guys,

Bruce - bit unsure as their website isnt totally clear. I think that may be for hard copies... In any case my brother lives in Lafayette La and is planning on being here in May And you are right - $25 for 6 mags is pretty good.

Dennis - thanks mate. Liking the ads only emphasises your attraction to bright, shiny and expensive things!! ;D

Francis - that is a really nice offer, thanks. I guess it is about time we organised a pick up day but not many getting beans delivered here these days.

All our previous ones it has been 40 degrees :

    Thanks again guys.

    Chris,

I just started subscribing to them...

Maybe I can bring them along to the next bean pick-up day for you & you can judge for yourself.

    Re: Roast Magazine

    Hi Chris,

I happen to be a subscriber and have been reading roast for the past few years. It has a very strong US coffee market bias but if you dont mind wading through that there are decent nuggets of useful information on roasting, origins and general market commentary. The back issue CDs are a bargain at just $25 but I am pretty certain they do not ship these overseas so you would have to go through a US address or forwarding service.

    Just my 2 cents

    Cheers,

    Bruce

    started a topic Roast Magazine

    Roast Magazine

    Hey all,

I have done a search (albeit on Roast Magazine) and not come up with much.

    Question -

Is anyone here, sponsors included obviously, a fan of this mag. Is it worthwhile?

Reason I ask is that they are putting annual back catalogues on CD-Rom at $25 each.

That is quite cheap if there is useful information in it.

Love to hear from someone who uses this publication.
