          Not a HAL9000 I hope.

Would be interested to know all the details of your set up. I seem to remember you had a thread a while back for the mods and it used to be fairly straightforward heat and fan power control, but dont remember any mention of a computer.

I just got hold of a multi tap transformer, so have added more popper mods to my ever growing list of projects. Im always interested in others ideas.

ROFL I tell you what if anyone can do that at home my OH can, bit scary some of the ideas he has

WM it was originally just a separation of heat and fan with their own controls but it wasnt consistent enough, I got a few 12 minute roasts but majority were still in the four to six minute range.

Once its in its box Ill have a full thread up on it, weve now done four test roasts, two turned out great the other two not so great but that was us playing with settings, just working on a power supply to put within the box

Latest roast was 15 minutes, I did the Gambella, and although it turned out a little on the toasty side, it wasnt overly dark so popped it away and OH tried it today, he said it wasnt half bad, we do like the Ethiopians though

We realised today that one, the Bourbon, that we thought was a not so good roast is actually something that my OH loves, its not bitter or burnt, but it was roasted to C10 easily.  His view was a long chocolately taste.  I was amazed it actually turned out alright to drink and it made a lier of me that we only like the lighter roasts.

Oh and he now wants to try black coffee, how about that for converting someone.  He also wants to invite his mother over to have her taste some real coffee.  ;D

                  Way to go shifter... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Sounds like your quest is definitely on its way, with the proof of the quality of your roasts, well and truly underlined. You might become a very busy home-roaster once the word gets out....
