Re: Behmor, Roastmaster iPad App and Temp probe
You can plug a USB Device to an IPad you just need the camera kit that has a USB attachment.
I use it to plug USB Midi devices to the IPad.
Not sure if its going to work with RoastMaster.

Re: Behmor, Roastmaster iPad App and Temp probe
As the i(whatever) family has no USB port and there seems to be lack of suitable wireless (or other) temperature probes available it looks like you will have to wait a bit longer. It is covered pretty well on the Blog at the Roastmaster App website.
If you want a solution now, forget about the iThingy(TM) and get a meter from Andy and use an old PC.

Re: Behmor, Roastmaster iPad App and Temp probe
Suspect thats not going to be a goer at the moment: It was designed to work with Andys RoastMonitor app that he generously provides to the CS members for gratis. The thread related to the monitor states:
GrahamThis meter and software has been installed on 100s of different PCs all over the planet and everyone I have spoken with are getting much better results using this for roasting feedback.
Tested as working well on:
Windows XP Pro
Windows XP Home
Vista Business
Windows 7 (32bit)
Windows 7 (64 bit, need to install Java 64bit)
Win98SE
Mac? Im told that it works fine using Parallels for Mac.
(We still suggest getting a low-end PC which will run this fine)
Not working well on:
VMware (suffers from disconnections during the roast)
Linux. Sorry, but I doubt it will run on Linux until Sun Java gets a working USB library for Linux, Mac and Windows.

Behmor, Roastmaster iPad App and Temp probe
Can anybody shed some light on how to hook up a temperature probe from my Behmor roaster to my iPad which would also run in conjunction with the Roastmaster App.
I cant find any chat about the Roastmaster App on CS. Does anyone have any tips/thoughts about it. To my untrained eye it seems pretty good. Im on a steep learning curve and it has helped alot with good inventory, tips and record keeping.
Back to the temp probe, Andy has info on getting the probe into the roaster but being a technophobe and an embarrassment to DIYers a little more detail would be helpful.Tags: None
