  • Installing thermocouple in corretto

Hi CSers, I am looking at getting a corretto setup but have a few questions.

If i go this way i would definately want a data log/thermocouple but have concerns about drilling the bread maker pan which may contain teflon.

Do the bread pans contain teflon?
If so which models are suitable?

    Appreciate input?

Hi James, Thanks for the pics!, nice neat job.

Wish i was as care free as you, but potentially releasing toxic & carcinogenic gases from teflon has to be an issue doesnt it?

Interested in hearing from anyone has researched issue.

Ive done many a roast in my teflon coated corretto and there is no evidence of degradation. Ive finally been moved out of intensive care after all the amputations and my brain still works brain still works brain still works brain still works. ;D

Personally, I wouldnt worry about it as I dont think the bowl in the breadmaker gets hot enough to cause a problem.

The pan does get pretty hot with the Covered version of a Corretto but Im not sure that it gets hot enough for the Teflon to start breaking down; Ive never measured the surface temperature....

After about 130+ roasts I noticed the teflon wearing away . So I attacked it with emery paper and sanded it all off.....

I recall reading that teflon is good to about 290*c. So this form of roasting shouldnt be hitting those temps.

Since sanding bread bin , Ive probably done another 80 roasts...

+1 although mine needed a lobotomy when the brains failed.
