    Thanks Ed

Just a couple of other quick questions.

How do you store the beans and how long can I expect them to last?
I believe green beans can be kept for 2-3 years, but you I suspect you would use your supply well within that time. I store mine in plastic boxes purchased from Big-W 4x2.5 litre & 1x5 litre for $10. Nothing fancy.

    Cheers

    Gday Mick and welcome aboard.

To answer some of your question:

Roughly how much does 1Kg of green beans weigh after they have been roasted?
I have found most beans loose approx 15-20% of their weight after roasting. So 1kg of green should be approx 800-850g of roasted beans.

Is there anywhere in Adelaide that sells green beans?
Not sure, but we have a few members in SA who regularly participate in the group buys. No problems sending kgs of green beans to Adelaide.

How does the poll system work in here for buying beans?
Basically, approximately once a month polls go up offering a selection of green beans. The beans that go into a poll are made up of Wish List items members have requested, and beans that have been recommended via brokers, etc. Members vote on the polls indicating the quantity share of green beans they wish to purchase. Once the bags are completely taken, invoices are sent out via e-mail. When all payment is received the bags will be purchased from the Coffee Brokers, picked up and distributed. As no profit is being made, we are able to get green beans at much reduced prices. Typically, green beans will sell for $4-$10/kg (although we recently have had a few exceptions).
