    Good Stuff!
    It only gets better!
The only downside is it makes it much harder to tolerate the abundance of mediocre coffee around.

    First roast

    Good morning all ,
Thought I would share my first home roast experience . I bought a popper at the local Vinnies ( black & decker 1200 watt ) for a few dollars and got rid of the plastic surrounds . Made my self a chimney from a Aldi salmon can which has a smaller diameter from one end to the other. I contemplated the whole timing , temp thing but decided to leave that for another time as I was just itching to give it a go ( thanks Divey ) . I found an old fan in the shed and decided this would be the go to cool the beans whilst swirling them around in a strainer in front of it . Well, I heated up the popper a bit and put 100 g of Ethiopian in it and stirred them around until they got going . Got to first crack and all was good and as soon as second crack started I got them out and started cooling the beans . I put them in e re-sealable bag with just a very small opening left so as to get rid of the gas build up and after 2 days sealed them up . Well its day 3 now and I have just ground some up with my $20 K mart grinder and brewed some up in my plunger . As I type Im drinking the best coffee I have ever had . To say Im astounded is an understatement and I cant believe Ive been missing out on this for all these years.
    Regards
    Brenton.
