What a great idea Chris ;D

I would buy at least a couple of tickets and Im sure that the manufacturer could be talked into doing a special deal on the "eval" roaster for CoffeeSnobs.

    who else?

how about 50 bucks a ticket...we import one for a play for a month or so and the draw happens at a future divide so that all can be sure that its legit. Id be up for a couple of tix to satisfy my curiosity on this one....

Which does cool very well, but might be trickey to get hot beans out of the roaster.

We really need to get one of each of these machines to test them further ;D

    How many raffle-tickets fatboy?

One downside I see is that the beans are cooled in the same drum as they are roasted. I cant see how that allows the beans to be cooled at any reasonable rate and suggests a steep learning curve to avoid the roast going too far.
Thats why you need the Handy Dandy Bean Bucket Cooler! ;D

I noticed that too but its not the case in the bigger models (2.5kg Artigiano).

More to the point of cooling is the fact that if you a doing a second roast then you are starting from scratch again.

Maybe with enough interest we can all chip-in and get one shipped-out for testing.

Did someone say CoffeeSnobs $100 raffle tickets? ;D

The price doesnt frighten me off too much at this stage.

Need to see a lot more info on its specs and operation though. Are you able to get a PDF manual or similar? Ive added a poll to let people day dream a bit.

Oh and here is their web site: http://www.coffee-tech.com/

    Re: Gimme!

The company that builds these great looking electric roasters is happy to talk turkey with us if we are ordering a few at a time.

Im not allowed to mention specific prices but we might be looking at about AU$2000 for the smallest one to your door (500gm-800gm model).

The 1kg one would be double that and the 2.5kg one would be about AU$6k.

Who here would be in the market for one using those prices as a guide?

    ???

Maybe if the exchange rate improves... significantly. Being a touch it before I buy it" person, Id want to be looking at one in the flesh before I sent the best part of three grand to a postal address in th US.

I wonder if its any cheaper to visit, test it, buy it and bring it back second hand? ;D

    Boris.

The parent company does have larger capacity version... 2.5kg

If we can buy from the parent an not another middleman then the pricing should be quite different.

    Ill pass-on the details.

    ;D
