    Me too!
Since hooking up the rotisserie Ive been roasting like crazy. Th BBQ takes about 16min all up for the darkest roast and down to about 12min for a city on the non decaf bean.

    Hey Presso,

Yes, just about to start 2nd Rolling crack... pulled just before... however Ill go into Rolling 2nd crack on my next batch and see what happens. The Decaf I first roasted was an unknown region however the next lot is an "Swiss Water Espresso Blend" ... not the "Columbian" which seems to be more widely available. My wife drinks the Decaf with Vitasoy So Milky Lite (Easy to micro foam this as well) so I need a Bean that has kick and will show itself through the Milk... Which is why Ill go a little more into 2nd Crack with my next batch.

This Roasting business is such as buzz... Im definitely hooked (Hook, line and sinker)

    Looks beaut!
Ive had limited success with my Decaf. Only recently have I been able to match your colour, Ive begun pulling them without waiting for the second crack, my Colombians do taste their best after about 4 days. Did you reach a rolling second crack with these little beauties?

Thanks Mal... The colours in the pictures are well represented. I Took a few different shots, varying the shutter speed (And a steady hand :-) ) and ISO settings (settled in ISO 400) so I could get the best representation of the colours of the roast etc....

PS... At 24hrs, the beans show a little oil on the surface but its still tasting quite good.... :-)

    Gday Mark,

From those photos Id say you have nailed it. The roast looks exceptionally even and pulled very close to the right time from the colour in the photos (always a bit hard to tell though). Great job mate 8-)!

    Mal.

    My First Decaf Roast

    Hi all,

With all the pics of peoples roasted caf beans, I havent seen home roasted decaf beans so I thought Id do the honours and post my first decaf roast, tasted it 1 hr later and my Wife said it was the best decaf shes had - And I had a taste and I confirmed it.

    Pic 1....

    Marc

Working...
