Surely you could get one online. Or maybe a CSer could get you one from Bunnings or similar and ship it to you. Where are you located?

A$100 is about S$130..and postage will be expensive, so no, it wont make sense

but is the 630 DCE better? or would the 600-3 do?

Great gun the Bosch  630DCE. There are a few CSers using this one. I love it. Well worth the couple of extra bikkies!

                  Yuo I agree

Having total control of the temperature is very useful.

I usually raise the gun to slow the temp rate between first crack and second crack and sometimes a tweak of +/- 10C gives the perfect rate rise.

Also, I use different settable temps as my starting point for roasts of different sizes or for different beans:
                  eg 460C for 300g and 480C for 400g for a particular bean
                  or
To get a slower profile for an African bean Id start with a lower temp.

The temp selectability is not critical but I like having the flexability.

                  Another vote for the 630

                    Hi amber...

Where you have the choice, Id always opt for the higher output model as this will give you a lot more options with regard to controlling your roast profiles. So disregarding any control pros or cons, itd be the 630DCE for me.... 8-)

thanks to all. I think i have enough yes votes to place my order for the 630 now

Hi amberosw, I have the 630 digital heat gun and its a great gun. But you should use a fan to blow the chaff away, if using a corretto. Also the gun will tend to drop in tempreture if it senses its being blocked or in a confined space, so the fan prevents this from happening.
