Hello everyone, Im new to this site so please excuse me if this has already been covered in another post.
I have been roasting for a year now using a popcorn popper, initially i used a Breville Crazy popper but when it started loosing heat i picked up a couple of second hand poppers from a charity store(Tiffany, Black and Decker). Im having a lot of difficulty with these 2 new poppers roasting WAY too quickly and therefore not developing any body and sometimes going from 1st crack to 2nd crack in under a minute.
So heres the deal, my employer heard about my roasting problems and has offered to purchase me a perpose built roaster for home(how nice eh?). So the question is this..... Hot Top programable or Gene Cafe? have i missed any other brands? im not really interested in the iroast or the hearthware as they wont keep up with my coffee demands and if someone else is paying i may as well get something worthwhile right?
What are the pros and cons of these machines? do either require frequent filter changes or replacing of any parts? and out of these 2 machines, wich are available in an Australian power output? and to whome do i contact in regards to purchasing?
Thanks heaps for reading through my intire rambling post,
Luke
