took too much heat out at first crack, but hopefully will work out ok
Thats a great looking profile, I would expect that whatever you did on that roast you will want to do again.

I like the flat, slightly positive ramp after 1st crack and doubt you would like the beans better with a shaper rise.

you were right Andy, this roast was delicious, there is definitely a honey aroma in the air and flavour in the cup, this is another amazing bean! so sweet i was sure in milk itd be like not having coffee but with a slower pour the sweetness still came through but with a bit of earthiness (or coffee-ness), and the crema is great looking, even on the insides of the empty cup.

Not sure is this is a low caffeine bean (is there such a thing?) but i seem able to stomach a few of these. or could be a tolerance building up!

Definitely a keeper on the profile, might play a little to be honest, i guess just because i can, maybe speed up the beginning and slow the middle

We have been roasting The Mexican & Ugandan both at the exact same profile with a drop temp 200 deg with a short roast of 14 mins about 15 sec into second crack ( 220 deg ) to get the cocoa nutty flavours a lesson the acidity in both . 40% Ugandan 40% Mexican . We then add a light roast of the Limu from last years stash dropped at shorter roast of 13 mins (215 deg ) to keep all those interesting floral aromas and lemon & berry hints 20% was then added - out come is choc and lemon with the depth of the darker roast we get the cocoa it extracts really well with the acidity of the lighter roast of the limu finishing it off with a nice long citrus driven aftertaste .. loving it !

cranked up the Corretto to do some "presents" for team that helped me out during the floods seems they are quickly becoming snobs....  ;D they all seem to be buying grinders and equipment

i have started roasting some of the massive stockpile Sparky parted with. A really interesting mix of beans, some may be considered a little old but seem to be very well kept.

                      3 X 600g Bali Gunung Agung
600g Panama RFA Bajo Mono EST
                      600g PuertRico Yauco Selecto
                      600g Tanzania Arumeru EST
                      600g Indian Tiger Mountain

all was going great on back to back roasts until my bucket of death bean cooler (vacuum cleaner motor powered) decided it had had enough and went BANG!! while cooling the last batch.

went straight down to the big green shed for a exhaust fan so good to go

i just did some CS searches and noticed the Yauco Selecto went for about $50 a kilo   better keep that one for myself and roast something else for the would be snobs  ;D

Today im roasting each of this months new BeanBay beans along with the Nepal Plantec Estate.

Did the PNG Kone Ka first and was Andy right about it being able to get away from you near the end.
I thought i had it under control but once it hit 2C it accelerated rapidly and got away from me a little but thankfully i managed to rescue it, getting it done at legitimate CS10.

Next up was the Rwanda Gisenyi.
I found this one roasted perfectly, without any hitches at all.
Only difference id make next time is to add a little extra time because whilst i loved the early CS9 i ended up with, Andy suggested a CS9-10 so next time ill take it a little further.

The Nepal Plantec Estate is up after lunch, followed by the Kenya Kandara AA.

850g of  the great Much Maligned Indian Monsoon Malabar AA

                            AND

                            800g of  left overs  ;D

PS. Note to self and others...

After floods / Rain and hot days.

Always stand in the SMOKE if roasting out side. If not, then expect to be eaten alive by mozies.

300g Nicaragua Cima del Cielo COE taken just into rolling first crack--dry aroma had lovely floral/spicy aroma 2 hours post roasting. CCD brew has lovely buttery mouthfeel, slightly malic acidity, clean and fruity with lingering aftertaste on front of palate--noice!!!
