the roast was 16 minutes with first crack at 11, ending at 12.50s and second crack at 16 - I pulled it straight away.
I wondered about the heating element but thought it might not be hot enough and bake the beans - I guess if it was hot enough you could set it all going then put the beans into a hot pan - or not, not sure what that might do to them.
Nice Job Grendel!! How many minutes was the roast in the pic? someone here in the states just built a BM roaster and used the heating element in the BM. He bypassed the electronics and has a switch for the heating element and one for the drive motor. He has just done 2 roasts and they do look promising. Ed

Well that is serendipity for you! I reckon you got it bang on - 700 is the limit and any more places a lot of stress on the BM and the process. I am happy with the roast though it came up nicely.
Mrs Grendels friends now expect their coffee toll when we come around so 600 grams is gone before I know it. I use around 250 grams a week. With the new Corretto (thanks Belinda!) I can get by with one roast a week for our needs and to take to work and take with us when we go out. Oddly all our friends have been going out and buying grinders (although I wish some would ask me before they do and Id save them plenty of grief!).

Not bad figues at all. You will be able to supply all your mates (customers) with beans with ease now The Corretto is such a good way to roast, and a cost effective set up. That would be a lot of effort in the popper to produce the same quantity.
