  • Impulse Sealer or equivalent

    Hey guys,

Hopefully (I think) this is the right forum,

Seen a few chats on here re impulse sealers and prices.

My searches (inhibited by myself : ) have produced little in the way of value.

Im desperately after one (see my whats in my roaster thread) but have a question...

Where are you lot getting them for that price??

Please PM or email me with a reasonably priced avenue...

    Thanks

    Chris

Type Impulse sealer into the bay of evil and all will be revealed.  I pick one up with same specs as AM about 6 months ago for a similar price.

Mine was from another supplier and another Auction place.. Was not going for a 200mm run; if for a $ or two I could get a 300mm one.

A few months ago... 200mm = $32 including postage.. Not no more..

          Re: Impulse Sealer or equivalent

If possible I would prefer a dual purpose sealer
It gives me more options to other uses in a household

So I propose an impulse sealer with suction = vacuum sealer
Question is are they as good as a standalone impulse sealer ?
Any owner/user care to give a review

Food products dont hang around our house long enough to bother with a vacuum sealer, as am said prices are a little dearer than when i picked up mine from the bay of evil, however, for the price......

There is a very good reason roasters heat seal bags of roasted beans....... 8-)

We have one and it is bloody fantastic.

I dont want to use it on coffee bags though for fear of killing it.

When you use the sealing section, the suction also kicks in so it will get worked over a bit too much.

              For its intended purpose, brilliant.

                  Re: Impulse Sealer or equivalent

I got a 200ml impulse sealer from guess where for $42 delivered. I didnt notice the 300mm one for not much more but did realise I hardly have space in the kitchen to store the 200mm one!

Worth every cent though. My bags never inflated during degassing with just the zip seals. Now they balloon after heat sealing. Wont say any more.

Got mine a few years ago from an evilBay store called the Packaging Centre. Its a really heavy duty beastie coming in at just under 5Kg for a 300mm unit. Just had a quick look now and they are still doing business so I guess thats got to be a plus, if youre chasing spares at some time in the future.

From memory, it cost me about $20.00 more than the asking price for their similarly listed item - Maybe turnover has increased?

I got a 300ml one a few years ago from OMaras.
                      Didnt get any spares though.
A lot of them appear to be from the same factory, just differently badged.

                          Re: Impulse Sealer or equivalent

Silly question, but why seal the bag? I thought the idea of the one way valve was to let out the C02 but keep the air out...

Were not sealing the bag.... Just the top....

                            **********   = Zip / press seal

The zip / press seal fails and does not always work or is sealed as expected.
