    Gday Lindsay...

Quite a few CSers have tried to transform a Rotisserie Oven into a Coffee Roaster and as far as I know, not many have been very successful without a hell of a lot of modification. I know Andy gave it a go a few years back and even ended up converting it to gas. If you do a search going back a fair way you should be able to pull up info on what various people have tried...

    Cheers mate

    Mal.

    Re: An option or not...

Aldi will offer a Rotisserie Oven for $ 99 from Thursday the 22nd of July.
    Is this an option?
    Other advertised details:
Convection oven, 34L capacity, Double hotplates, Four stage heating selection, 60 minute timer with bell and auto cutoff and 2200W.

I know nothing more about this unit, but suspect that the 2200Ws may be squandered on the hot plates to an extent.
It could be interesting if the oven was rated at 2200W or near to it.

    Lindsay

    Interesting.....

@ 1200w i would deffinately try it but as mentioned by others....600w may need some extra help.
Having said that...that "extra help" may be the variable needed to speed up and slow down the roast when needed?

Ill be staying tuned to this one...not that i need another roaster but am interested in the results

    Good luck AM

    ?,

Does anyone know how many Watts?
"My Rotisserie" is 600 Watts and 230-240 voltage

Could be a bit light on... But depending on other things... Could be a go...

If not... Will do the odd chicken pieces.. Roasted capsicum and or other veggies etc...

couple of things to consider will be

airflow, maybe a small fan underneath and a top vent?
element location might scorch the beans or worse still catch the chaff on fire  ?
will it get to temp in under 20 minutes with a little airflow?

Still worth a go I reckon
I reckon this is worth a SNOB MOD star; and that some one needs to put their hand up for it..

If it works... Who would need a popper..
