This is my 1st roast. Bought popper a few mths already, never got a chance to roast (deciding to go corretto or popper).
Finally go popper (SB: Cornelius) as I have no fund for the heat gun!! (Only got old BM)
Given no experience never know what 1st and 2nd crack sound like.
I think there must be some problem with my roast. Here is my timing.
Ambient condition: 3.00pm 13c Humidity 40%
Green Bean: 80g Columbia Specialty.
(I dont have thermometer yet, only timing)
1st crack: ~ 5 min
continuous 1st crack??: ~ 5.45 min - 7.40 min
2nd crack: ~ 19.30 min ---> Seriously I thought it would has been disaster as I didnt hear 2nd pop/crack after 15mins
continuous 2nd crack?? ~20:20 min - 20:45 (coz Ive seen no smoke so I left beans pop until 20:45 and I was afraid to burn the beans so I took off)
Final Roasted bean wt ~ 65g
[color=#ff0000]Second Crack and NO SMOKE!! STRANGE???[/color]
- Should I wait until getting smoke after 2nd crack?
- 20:45mins total time is too long?
- There is a black spot on a few beans, what is it?
Cant wait to try in the next 3 days.

, so i had to put less beans in mine for the roast to be longer.
. Isnt this what,s coffeesnobbery is about? Having fun and eagerly waiting for the upgrade. 8-)
