Thought that I would start Topic on "roasting stations"..

I am always playing around changing things to make it easy so as I dont stuff up ;D and I am interested to see how others set there stations up.
One of the reasons that I have set mine up this way re: coffee bags on front is my wife works from home and every time a client comes to the house they want to know What I am up to cooking up drugs ay any way heres mine...

    Cheers Gra..

    Re: Roasting Stations

Its great, I cant wait to have our own place, until then I pick up the popper, pick up the fan, take them outside, plug them into the extension cord and off I go, green beans are kept in the bottom of the pantry, I measure them out on the scales above the cupboard beside it ;D

Will be taking notes from everyone else that posts photos

      Re: Roasting Stations

      Hi all

Gras got a nice setup. Mines just the garage at present, looking into the street so I can blow the smoke down the street and have people look in and see whats cooking. Later intend to move the roaster up to our farm.

Love how neat and tidy your roasting station it Gra! I wish my husbands "hanger" (many many model planes" was that tidy.

Im relegated to having my little popper on top of a bar fridge in our dingy outdoor abandoned laundry/toilet.

Like Bigdog Im still tossing up tthe next step - the Baby roaster and the USB controlled Behmor both have attractions, but here is my very basic setup which gets a run early in the morning (the cooler the better I find) - but the setting has its compensations ... even if I did forget the sunnies this morning! 8-)

Well Java Junkie I have gone with the Behmor, I like that I can roast for the week just once (im time poor with 2 small daughters). I figure letting the beans rest will also be good zen for working on my paitance or lack there of! Have a batch of the famous KJM Blend sitting for its 3rd day..... oh the anticipation!

                  Re: Roasting Stations

Yes, its really only the anticipation thing that has me tempted by the Baby Roaster - delayed gratification isnt really my thing! ;D

Im also tempted my the bigger roast of the Behmor (at the moment I do at least 2, but quite often 4 150g popper roasts) as well as letting other people do the hard yards designing downloadable USB profiles for each bean!

I havent got into blending yet (had to look up KJM - sounds great!). For the moment I am working my way through the Green Bay SO catalogue and having to suffer this mornings Ghimbi  8-) while the latest batches of Wahgi mature

I use the small side extension of my BBQ

Thats all the space I need for the KKTO
So I dont have a roast station per-say

Leave us R/C junkies alone I really need a larger garage to setup the roasting thing better but the 20ish flyable planes and the 7 helicopters and other assorted stuff get in the way.

My current setup is a bit like JavaJunkies on the back verandah as the sun goes down with a beer in hand

I used to do this (you can just about se it in the background of my pic), but lets just say the combination of a BBQ I hadnt cleaned as often as I should and the coffee chaff wasnt exactly winning me any friends ... : ... so I made a coffee table!

I dont have that problem as all the chaff is collected within the roasters lower chamber

                              As for the garage
I have to sell all the business equipment to make space
This thread may just prompt me to at least look at the topic of a garage roasting station a little closer [smiley=undecided.gif]
