mine, from last night, roasting some Tanzania Blackburn Estate - Clouds of August.

I was trying some different software on my mac because I realised last minute that I no longer had my windows partition, so couldn't use my regular software. I grabbed a java-based one called "roastlogger", works very well with the CS DMM. It's all set up on a $20 metal shelf set from bunnings, configured in an "L" shape. A steel pole hosts a 19" widescreen monitor which isn't in use in this pic. HG sits on an old camera tripod. BM has the temp probe drilled directly under, so you can quickly eject the bread pan without smashing the probe up. A bathroom floor tile is my BM lid, which controls bread pan temps

Also have the fashionable plastic bucket with toilet fan and metal sieve for a cooling device.

        Roastery Station Mk5 update:
        New additions and problems solved.

        HG Cutting out:

I had this problem on hot days only and what has evolved is as follows.
        • I put a curved deflector (pool light Lens) to stop the rising heat re-entering the HG inlets. This was only marginally successful so I added the small fan above
HG, problem solved. HG fits snuggly into lid hole. +-2mm gap.

        Chaff Port:
        • I made a lid from another BM to cover the roasting chamber. The lid has a glass viewing port which lets about half the chaff out and the other half sits at the bottom of the BM.
I raised the bucket rim about 20mm with Gyprock corner stuff – stopped the odd bean jumping up and escaping…..
        • Incedently I insulating the roasting bucket….Hard to tell if that made a difference as I did it at the same time as the Lid.

The result is that I now roast with much lower temps and HG on lower fan speed.
Less Grilling and more Roasting of the beans, if you know what I mean.

        Halogen Light:
        • Makes it easy to see into Roasting Bucket. With the glass lid in place or not.

        Packaging:
        • Pouring the beans into the bags always had a few falling out. Problem solved with a cut down funnel mounted at the correct height.

The coffee tastes just as good, with the added bonus of a smaller carbon foot print.
(To keep Julia happy -- Ha ha - poor thing)

I have the time and will be in need of a bigger garage if this project continues to evolve.
The things we do for what we love!!!

        Cheers
        Sando

Roasting Station Mk6 now with SRS Technology.

Had some spare time so caught up on some Mods for the Roasting Station.

          Problem 1.
Light glare off the new Cover recently fitted.

Solution: Attach the light so it shines inside the Oven Section.

          Problem 2.
Silver skins remaining inside the Oven under new cover.

          Solution: Fit SRS Technology.
          SRS Technology. (Skin Removal System)

Fitted a 50mm Downpipe Tail flush with bottom of Oven and plumbed into the suction section of my Bean cooler system.
Pool Plumbing used (40mm pressure pipe).
By pulsing the blower for 3-5 seconds every 30 seconds during the roast all (yes all) the skins were removed.
No noticeable effect on the temps within the oven.
No Skins in the bottom of the Oven at the end of the roast, and none on the floor as the blower mulched and blew them away – gone.
          Perfect result.

Pic is of Roasting station from the back or 'business end'

            That's awesome :-)
Your SRS system looks great! Those skins under the pan have always frustrated me, not matter how well I seal the lid - but I use the heat gun to give them a blast post-roast and the fan across the top then blows them away. But gotta love your integration!

Resurrecting an old thread, but thought my roasting station might help someone else. Purchased a cheap trolley online, added the side shelf, made it taller to fit the bean cooler, fitted better wheels and mounted a powerboard - now all my roasting stuff is off my workbench, and it fits neatly into a spot in the garage.
