Thrilled with the Behmor 1600 and inspired to go on to greatness!
The good news is that now you have started the roasting journey it just gets better!

Keep track of the weights and settings you use and what your "tasting notes" are a week later. You will build a knowledge base that will give you a good starting point for future roasts too.

A word of warning though... soon you will be roasting for friends, family and work mates who will have some of the best coffee they have ever tried.

Welcome to the "not so dark side" javaQH.

Would love to hear from who has an xcel type sreadsheet they would like to share to keep track of roast profiles, favourites (and failures).

Heres my very basic roasting log, feel free to use as you see fit.

Pretty good, but not sure what you mean by "profit", I think you mean cost savings? Youve factored in the weight loss in roasting from green but no overheads allocated like electricity, albeit it would be minor, and if you are including total costs it should include the cost of a valve bags (if you use them which I do). No doubt we save money by roasting our own though. Yes theres the labour and time part but most of us dont think of it as work but fun!

How does Spjarli #4 roast and whats it like in the cup?

          Re: Starting out on Behmor

Its only calculating profit on the cost of goods, not net operating profit!

Oops, I didnt mean to share my blend names...

Truth be told, I havent yet blended the #4 blend, I am doing this post-roast and it still needs a couple more days to rest.
