  • Advise on roasting Yemen beans please.

    Hello

laid my hands on some Yemen sanani mocca greens

This is my first time roasting Yemen beans , I am using a corretto,

So I would like some info / tips on roasting these beans from any corretto roasters please,

    Cheers.

Have to admit these are far from the top of my list of favorites, in fact I won't be ordering them again.
I bought a few kilo's of these a while back, found roasting no big deal, 750 grams in a Corretto approx 13 mins to first crack, lower heat and approx another 6 or 7 mins and remove at the first few snaps of second crack.
The beans are quite small, so you will need a cooling sieve with a smallish mesh, I have also found them to be quite dirty, stones etc so keep an eye out for them.

Ok thanks for the tips yelta

Roasted my first batch last night in the corretto, 12 min to first ,unloaded at first snaps of second at 17 min.

No stones in this lot but I did find a peice of glass

So will see how we go in a few days.

Tried this bean from day 6 very thick body very smooth, espresso average, cuts through milk well

Day 10 big improvement in the flavour espresso very nice

This is the first yemeni bean I have tried and I do like them, will use some in my blends

looking forward to trying another yemen variety.
