Hi battybat and welcome to CoffeeSnobs...

A popper works fine for small batches but IMHO you cant beat the Corretto....

Anywhere from about 150 grams to 700+ grams with great control...

    Have a read of:

plenty of pictures of setups in that thread as well.

    Hi there and welcome
I too have been a greenie for a while.
I started with a popcorn popper and soon migrated to the corretto (what a magnificent invention) we owe everything to Belinda

I have not posted my setup yet to the thread about heat guns and bread makers but will do this shortly, do a search on the forums for the corretto, you will be amazed what it all is when you see it. If you have a few of the components then the cost is relatively inexpensive, especially when you consider the cost of the small retail roasting machines you can buy. They do very small batches.

I nearly purchased one but fortunately i found all these great people here at coffee snobs who helped steer me to the path of quality coffee for a fraction of the cost of purchasing it already roasted and of course you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

I am no handy man round the house so i get great satisfaction from roasting my own coffee, even the neighbours pop in to see what all the great smells are that waft out of my garage.

    Good luck with it all
    Mal

Excuse me please, but where does a green bean go?

Ive been a greenie for a while now, and just realised that I can get a bag of green beans for being a greenewbie.  Whats the best way for a greenie to roast them?  Ive got a BBQ, a slow cooker, a toaster and a kettle...oh and an oven.  Ive also got two dogs called Penny and Ali, but please dont suggest that they do anything with them as they are beanie enough!

Lame I know, but this is my first post so now Ill struggle out of the mire of the list of members with a 0...we can only hope that my next posting will benefit mankind more   :-[
