  • Are rats, mice, etc attracted to chaff?

I roast in my garage and as there's often plenty of dust on the floor I don't worry too much about cleaning up the chaff that falls on the floor.

Should I worry about rats, or any other wildlife being attracted by the chaff?

You may find that local horses might be interested.

Depends on what the rest of your place is like ;-D

I'm not willing to misrepresent myself as an expert on the subject, but I'd say no. Chaff on my verandah has never attracted increased evidence of rodents, and we've had a mild plague of mice on the region lately.

It does, however, highlight cobwebs quite well.

Ok thanks. There isn't a rat problem in the area so it sounds like I won't start one.
