I have just completed my first few roasts on my new Gene Cafe and I am very happy with the results even though I have not been able to hear the cracks very well (even with the chaff collector off).
So far using 200 grams at 225deg for 18 minutes (16-16 1/2 for decaf) gives excellent flavour and is (as far as I can tell from Sweet Marias pictorial roast guide) a City + to Full City +roast.
Beans I have tried are:-Sumatra Mandehling
Bali Gunung Agung
Rawanda Cyangugu
African Red Sea Blend
Guaetamala SHB S/W Decaf
Has any fellow c/s an idea of how much increasing the roast size to 250 or 300 grams will affect the roast time?
