    Re: Ethiopian Gemaoro Beans

    Thanks Hazbean,
When I bought them locally the guy at the roasters and I had a
lot of trouble reading the hand written labels for some of their beans.
    Gemaoro was what we guessed.
Nearly right but explains why no luck with search engines.
Ill have another look around now.

    Ken.

    Thanks Mal,
Im glad I wasnt going GA GA when I couldnt find anything either.
The main reason I grabbed them was I was told they had pronounced chocolate flavours.
So that cant be a bad thing.
Ill let you know how they perform in a few days.

    Ken.

    Nope,

Never heard of this one rk. Tried a number of spelling variations of the name but nothing resembling a variety of coffee was discovered. Maybe its the name of a very small region or processor in a region of Ethiopia? Anyway, roasting as for a Harrar, Yirg or other similar bean should get you close so thats good advice,

    Mal.

    Ethiopian Gemaoro Beans

I hope Ive spelt this bean correctly.
I bought some of these locally recently to try roasting in my Iroast2.
Ive tried searching these forums for any info but have drawn a blank.
Hazbean suggested a roast as for Harrar and I tried that...now waiting
    patiently to try it.
    A rough roast guide was: 196c after 5mins/ 209c after 9 mins/ 221c after 12 mins
FC at about 8:30 mins SC about 11:30 mins.Cooled 20 secs later.

I wonder if anyone else here has tried it and can suggest whether its
better as an SO or blended.
Im quite happy to experiment but always ready to listen/benefit from others
experiences.Especially if it saves wasting beans.

    Thanks,
    Ken.
Working...
