Well I roasted this bean yesterday and all went well as you all predicted. Could not help myself and made a brew this morning and could not believe the taste ! and it will only improve with rest.

Different regions and countries have different methodologies to process their coffee.
Some will screen to a consistent size, others will remove the defects, and some don't do much anything.

The Sulawesi Blue is a beautiful bean in the cup, big and heavy with a monster body and great mouth-feel, consistently one of the best coffees in the whole region but as you noticed, they don't screen to a size but having said that, the overall size is quite large.

Don't get hung-up on the appearance, roast and try... always the best way to gauge a coffee.

    Enjoy!

Don't worry about the grading b-b...

Quite normal for beans from this part of the world and the resulting brew in the cup, is great...

    Mal.

Have a crack (pardon the pun) and see what they turn out like. I've never had any issue with Sulawesi Blue.

    Bean size

    Hi All,
My first delivery of green beans from coffee snobs arrived today ( Sulawesi Blue ) and I have noticed the bean size varies greatly. I am concerned I am not going to get an even roast from these beans. Have others had inconsistencies like this in the past and if so did it affect your roasting results ?
Working...
