First my popper ran incredibly hot and I would get first crack around 1:30 in and a full rolling crack about 2min then a faint second crack 2:30. Finally by 3 min the beans would be smoking and over roasted.
So I started to mod my popper. Nothing too serious just light tinkering. First took the top off and the bottom screws so I could introduce more air for the fan. I semi dislogded the chamber to reduce the direct heat.
This took a 50g roast from 3:20 (and probably over roasted) to about 7 min first crack, 9 min rolling first. 2nd crack a touch over 12 min. Almost perfect, maybe a tad too long. Subsequent attempt of 80g first crack 5 min, rolling 5:30, second around 7 min. Getting closer.
Unfortunately can't post a picture of results, will try to link some pics. Would love some feedback from the popper experts!
