    My cooling fan (as do most) draws the air down through the beans, would be roasted coffee all over the area if you had an up flow of air.

      Check out my cooler made from an old pop corn stir, bucket and strainer pan. Cools quickly.

        Roaster Cooler

        My fan_in_a_box flow upwards and apart from a bit of chaff nothing blows out.

        The fan is a $20 Arlec extractor fan from the big green shed. The sieve came from a $2 shop.

        Seems to cool a half kilo roast quite well.

          I second the suggestion for the bathroom fan option and sucking rather than blowing so you aren't chasing beans all over the place.
          You can dissipate the heat by having a not fully enclosed setup below the fan.

          My cooler uses a repurposed vacuum cleaner motor inside a bucket with a colander on the top.
