    Hi Pawnii
Looks like coffeesnobs changed the URLs for forum posts.
Here's a new URL for that same same post i was referring to above:
    https://coffeesnobs.com.au/forum/cof...fryer-roasting
Quick search also yielded another air fryer setup being used here, altho quite different:
    https://coffeesnobs.com.au/forum/cof...h-an-air-fryer

    good luck!

A little different, I roasted 300grams of png in a flat tray of a Breville air fryer last night. Worked a treat, will do a taste test in a week.

This is great. Love it. When I first upgraded from my popcorn maker I was going to take an old tumble dryer and put it on top of a BBQ...thought the resale value wouldnt be that great though so decided to get the real deal.

Sorry, a little late in this conversation
I bought one of these (exact Kogan model) a few months back for this same purpose
Finally a couple of weeks ago got organised with beans etc and "had a crack"
    They Work very well
Burnt the first lot (300g at 21 mins) waiting to hear the second crack ... not an expensive exercise at about $3.60
have done numerous batches since all about the 17- 18 min mark ... I watch with a powerful torch and go by eye now
A little uneven with the roast but the taste is superb
I might add another agitation fin or two in the cylinder to see if that's better ... or I could just go smaller batches
    Cheers
    Ramps

As a KKTO user I can highly recommend the design but be warned that they somewhat tricky to master. I strongly encourage adding a switch to bypass the thermostat (else it always comes in at crucial times) and separating the heating and fan elements so you can control the heating element with a Variac (this is on my todo list).

I have one of the original beta testing KKTO's, and apart from a recent extended rest during a renovation, it's been doing a great job for quite a few years. My latest efforts around it are to try and get the 800gm to 1kg roast times under 27mins! The beans are still pretty good going for a reasonable light roast, which works really well in my Leva, but it's a bit of a dull process - just let it do it's thing til the target temp is reached and then dump. 400gm there's a lot more flexibility, and I can get down around 16 to 17 mins or so, and can adjust more readily.

I fry with a very similar air fryer. It took a lot of modification, but the results are excellent! I followed the guide which was posted here:
    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/home-roast...-roasting.html

This particular style of air fryer isnt on Kogan any longer, but ebay still has them for $100ish

If you're handy and have a number of hours to spend on this then i give it the big thumbs up

    Air fryer with cage rotisserie

I noticed that Kogan are selling a Turbo Oven style cooker, which has a horizontal rotisserie built in, with what looks for all the world like a basket to roast beans in. Anyone given it a go to see if it works for coffee? I figured for $100 someone might have given it a go
Working...
