  • iPhone/iPad datalogger with corretto (pics)

    Hi all,

Having been corretto roasting on and off for 10 years or so I thought it was about time I started paying more attention to roasting profiles. Better late than never.

    And so (see pictures).

That's a homegrown iPad app, receiving data via bluetooth low energy from a Raspberry Pi Zero attached to a type T thermocouple via an Adafruit breakout board. Yes, I'm a geek. It works on iPhone too, but I like the big graph. Cost of materials is around $NZ55.

The blue line on the graph is my previous roast; the red line is the current one. It keeps a full roast history of course, with notes, and the data can be transferred between devices or exported to a json file. Lots of features on my list to add, when I get time.

I know you guys have the HeatSnob, but I do like being able to make use of the computer I have in my pocket.

        Hi

Nice simple setup and very nice app. Must easier to be able to use a small tablet instead of ones bigger laptop. Is your app open source?

          Hi Mike,

Not open source as such but I'm happy to make the app and Raspberry Pi image available to anyone who's interested.
