I would have been surprised if I was the first to try this. Thanks for the link provided Grendal. I’ll stick with ruining crockery rather than using a plastic bowl then!!! I would have liked to see your thread Grendal, but couldn’t locate anything…? :-/
My experiment yesterday reminded me of a younger me when jam donuts first came out for microwaves many moons ago.....I seem to recall making burnt rocks that smoked out the house....very reminiscent yesterday...... :

Wife is away so I am free to have bicycle repairs in the lounge, cleaning of salt water from the fishing rods in the bath and experimental microwave coffee roasting in the house......Ssshhh…..
Im thinking to make a simple agitator at this stage by making a frame/agitator from plastic that will use the walls of the microwave to stabilise it and goes into the container holding the beans and the turntable does the agitating for me while the agitator remains stationary. No lid likely, but I think the microwave should keep the ambient air temp good enough.
Seems simple in theory, lets see how the practice is....
From what I can see the unevenness of the roast is a major problem which may be somewhat fixed by agitation?? I’m a fool for persisting I know, and that a substantial improvement in the quality of the roast is unlikely, but we’ll see where this goes….
Anyone for pictures if I get it going??
