    Re: new roaster

comphelp - look for the air intake of your popper.
Thats where you need to get more cool air to.
On my Crazy Popper I drilled additional air holes at first then eventually removed the bottom grill entirely for unobstructed air intake.
This will help lengthen roast times.

Another trick if you need it after the first one, is to drill holes in the top half of your poppers body to introduce some thermal inefficiency and let hot air inside the popper body, but not actually in the roasting chamber, escape.
This too will increase roast times.

All under the approval of the other half of course or else you might have to go and get another "Pretty Popper" to pop them corns for the late night movie.

Cheers for that. I put my Chimney in today. Ill see what impact that has on my roast times first.

I notice in the instructions that they say not to use the device for more than 5 mins continuously. Will the longer roast times noticeably reduce the life of my popper?

They should extend the life I should think because you will actually reducing the amount of heat concentrated within the unit.

Most poppers have a thermal cutout that stops the popper if it overheats.
Thats why the recommendation of no more than 5 min.
