i do know that they turned a nice caramel colour when roasting and that the colour change was very gradual. i pulled them at first sign of second crack, and as i said second crack was well established 2 to 3 mins into the cool down period...
You get them when you buy green beans from CS. The fact I asked for help on this indicates Im no roasting expert - maybe its the photo but they look a bit light for SC to me :-?
i think its a trick of the light, b/c when i tried photographing them indoors they looked very dark under artificial lighting, so I took my plate outside and photographed them under direct sunlight, which tends to have the opposite effect
the green beans themselves were very small to start off with, thus the relatively short roasting time - my usual roasting time tends to be around the 17 to 18 min mark for larger beans, but i will upload some video of them pouring, once they have had time to degass
Its pretty hard to tell the true colour of beans from a photo given the variation of lighting exposure and computer display. Maybe if the snobs card was included in the photo it would make it easier to judge?
