  • First and Second Corretto WOW !

Well couldnt wait (how unusual) to get temp measuring device or cooling tray set up and thought Id just have a go without to get a feel of the Heat Gun/Breadmaker action.
Put in 350gm Mexican Altura, this was the only thing in my stash I was prepared to sacrifice (sorry mexico).
But no need for tears it was all good.

Beans in BM- Ryobi on Fan 2 and backed off from 650 to read 500deg
    9m40s to FC
    10m30s to AFC
Backed heat off - Ryobi fan to 1 and HG temp to 350
Ramped up at 13.40 HG 500 HG fan 2
    SC 14.30
    ASC 15.50
    Pulled at 16m 40sec

    Cant wait to try it.

Ill try and load a picture, not my strong point..........

Anyone want to buy a Hottop"?   Just kidding...I think !  :P

        Mmmm,

Another great looking roast there redzone..... At this rate, youre going to have more beans than you know what to do with soon ;D Its a very addictive hobby though, quite apart from any influences that caffeine might have,

        Cheers ,
        Mal.

Managed to wait 48 hrs to test the Mexican Altura, my wifes says the Ristretto while a little fresh has the strongest chocolate taste of anything she has tried so far (about 85 different roasts).
I had a double shot flat white and was plesantly surprised by a touch of choc and maybe caramel but still fresh tasting and will be interesting in a short black etc in a few more days.

Must be Corretto season ! Ive just got mine going , and after roasting outside in chilly Melbourne tonight , the beans got to 205 degrees after 10 minutes ,and just sat there for another 6 , going no further. The result is a lovely 8 on the snobs colour chart , but the heat soak produced solid bodied Rwandan Cyangugu with fantastic aromatics .
Im hooked on the Corretto roaster , the popcorn popper goes back into the cupboard!
Theres a Wiki entry for the Corretto too !
