Ive been hanging around on this site for about a year now. This is my first post so gday to all.
A fews days ago I decided to take the plunge into home reaosting with a 1200W popcorn maker. Today I received my CS starter pack with 4x single origin beans - great!
I roasted 3 batches today. The first got to second crack in 6 minutes and the 2nd and 3rd got to 2nd crack in just 5 minutes (due to starting with a warm machine). From what Ive read this is too quick.
For each batch I removed the beans about 30 seconds after the start of 2nd crack. The beans look great - an even dark roast with oil on only a few beans. I look forward to grinding them.
Any suggestions on the quick roast time? Is there a recommended brand and model of popcorn maker to get a slightly slower roast?
Thanks,
Paul
