    Thanks Andy.
    My search skills are obviously a tad crap, i really should have found that thread.
    As for Linux, the issue is no longer as i managed to do a repair on an old Dell inspiron 4000 series laptop that has a serial port so i will fire up the software on the Windows 2000 and see how it goes.

    Gday bolb...

    Have you tried it with "Wine" at all? I seem to remember someone posting in a while ago that they had located and tried a Linux version of the DMMs software and this worked OK but as far as I know, the CS software is written for a Windows environment. It is written in Java though, so I would imagine that someone with the necessary nouse (and the time) could tweak it to run under Linux natively.

    A search of the forum might reveal the thread with the DMM Linux software....
