Re: Sunbeam EM2300 Milk frothing problem

Mine was rather annoying and got worse the longer I had it. What I found is that if you turned the steam valve around to the preheat section it wasnt actually preheating. I found that I had to turn it a little further and while it was leaking water out of the valve it still got to temperature. I always made two milk drinks at a time and steamed 200ml one after the other with no problems what so ever. What I used to do is let the boiler come to temperature in brew mode after pouring the espresso. The light will be out once at temp in brew mode so turn the steam knob until the light comes back on. This tells you that the micro switch has been tripped and that you are actually pre heating. When this happens you will also hear a faint click which is the micro switch. Wait for the light to turn off again purge the wand so the steam is dry and go for your life. I always had a glass under the steam wand to catch all the water that leaked out.

GL and let us know how you go.

My 2300 has a similar problem, and since new. It shoots a stream of hot water and only a little steam, no matter how long I wait for it to heat or what I do first. I believe it is faulty and will be asking for a replacement. It does make nice coffee though.

I have no problems steaming 300ml of milk in a 600ml jug with my EM2300 and sometimes I do two jugs in a row without refilling the boiler, so it sounds like you might have a problem with yours.

According to this website http://www.designawards.com.au/appli...icationID=1551 it has a 350ml boiler, which should give you more than 10 seconds of steam  .  I steam with mine for over a minute.

    Sunbeam EM2300 Milk frothing problem

I recently bought a sunbeam EM2300 coffee machine. Im having trouble getting a adequate amount of steam when frothing milk. Ive read the instruction booklet and do as it says waiting until the warm up light goes off before frothing. I have tried filling up the water reserve and letting it run through the machine and then tried using the steaming arm and even then it shoots out steam for about 10 - 15 seconds and then nothing. Also if i turn the nob back to preheat and then to steam to try and get more steam out of it i get nothing at all. I think i have a broken machine but im not sure as i know its cheap but surely it cant be that bad to only give me 10 seconds of steam and only once.
Working...
