Ah yes I see. I wasnt sure what that all meant (should have read the manual in more detail) but Ill give it a go later in the week since you have stated not to do the clean procedure in doors. In your post you refer to other posts that are for manual clean process. Im going to look for that post and see if I can do that before a service.

Ok, same as I have also stated...
If you read my post it also shows you how to manually flush the Steam thermoblock..

Things to try are set Steam Temperature to Minimum and Pump Rate to Maximum and try to flush the descaler out of the pump. Will let you know how I go this evening.Originally posted by 7C535A584F705C535C5A58505853493D0 link=1240125202/13#13 date=1240366376Let us know how you go... After you do it... Post back as to the Smell that you can detect... I would suggest it is a Risk Management process...
I am sure that Mr Bombora would also suggest you follow manufacturers guidelines... Even if he is not too concerned, if any thing happened the finger would get directed to some one.....
I do it on just about all the units I have to service... And so long as it is out side and I go a low as I can on the temp etc not a problem
Fair enough AM, thanks.
Mr Bs product says use it in the steam wand but I think your advice re the great outdoors is good sense.

The main reason is that in addition to scale coming loose; at the steam temps, the chemical reaction is a WHS issue...
NO GOOD TO BREATH...
Thus find my posts as to cleaning.. Steam temp to LOW and AS wet as possible and DO IT OUTSIDE!!!!
Thanks
Chris

I picked up some of that from the lovely Ofra and Renzo at Di Bartoli.
Think I will alternate descales between the tablet and the Bombora stuff until I run out of tablets.
Thanks for the explanation ACog

If that does not work... Then suggest scale in the system :-[

Then you will need to find my posts to see how to do a manual clean..

Re: Sunbeam EM6910 Frothing Problem
They recommend not running descaler through the steam wand as some descalers only flake off the scale, which can block the steam wand.
Speak to AngerManagement (or better yet, do a search on his posts for descaling/unblocking the steam wand).

Re: Sunbeam EM6910 Frothing Problem
Hmmm
It does say in the book not to run descaler through the steam wand, though I have absolutely no idea why. As it is a separate pump and thermoblock you would expect that would need descaling as well.....
:-?
I think a service centre for a look over might be the best option unless someone else in here (AM
) can enlighten further...
Chris
...who hasnt run descaler through the steam arm...
