Pictures would help. I get a similar thing in a lot of my coffees. I think it has more to do with the steaming of the milk than anything else. It doesnt seem to matter whether my beans are fresh or old either.

    bubbles from crema oil?

    Hi all,

Ive noticed over the past couple of weeks that the top of my flat whites have started bubbling up (with tiny bubbles) after about 30 seconds where the crema is darkest and oiliest...
(Im using mostly home roasted ethiopian yirg...)

Im about 1 month into using my PIDd silvia (3 months into the silvia before that), and I think part of the reason might be that Im actually getting better, richer, reddier, goldenier, gloobier, oilier espresso than I was before...

On the other hand, maybe the cows are doing something groovy this time of year, and maybe many other people are experiencing this?

Or I could be doing something dodgy... but it tastes great!

    Any thoughts?
