Omega3 fatty acids are damaged by heat and so your fancy milk is probably devoid of any Omega3 benefits by the time you latte it...  The omega3 additives in bread are stabilised to endure the baking process...

Getting a little off topic but does that mean that the fats are added after pasteurisation then?
Yes they are, along with any other stuff like folate and vitamin D...

Hoyks, dont stress, its only us that know this dirty little secret - carry on your charade... :-X

    Love this...

Take milk boasting omega-3 fats for example - you would have to drink two litres to get the same benefit as eating a 50g portion of salmon, Choice found.
Ah, but what if you are like me and - apart from Tuna - absolutely hate seafood in any way, shape or forn and do go through 2L of A2 milk in lattes...

Seems to me as though its doing me some good where otherwise I may not get any Omega 3.

    :P Choice...

I notice there is also no comment on taste, freshness, supporting local business, ...

I used to read and enjoy Choice, but it sure was a case of learning how to read the articles and evaluate the tests on what was important to me.

Or as weve discussed here before, turning their information into intelligence.

    SMH article on milk quality

From the bastion of wonderful comparisons, Choice, comes this:

    http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/well...0904-farr.html

Bottom line is that they reckon theres no benefit in drinking fancy milks over full cream, low fat or skim. Obviously no mention on microfoamability of the brands.
