We had a trial of it at our cafe. The customers didnt like it. I agree that its easier to handle. But it exhibited this weird nutty aroma and taste which we felt was overpowering the coffee. Horses for courses of course.

Robstar, there is no bubbles. lumpy or solid bits but rather "contrast" between coffee ad milk it "bleeds" into each other. On another note l am having trouble getting supply in Vic dont know whats up with Nat Foods so l have gone back to Bon...hmmmm

By bleeding, are you referring to the way it sort of clots in the milk? I dont mean forming lumpy solid bits, but that spotted, grainy texture that settles within the look amongst the crema. (Arght that difficult to explain)

Although I too immediately experienced positive feedback from customers. Mainly because I asked them how they felt about it; they, being regular soy customers.
    They call it tofu latte...

Ive had it for a couple of weeks now and overall my customers are impressed with the new soy stating a nuttier less sweet taste than BonSoy but it still maintains the Vitasoy "bleeding" characteristic in the cup.

In summary the Vitasoy tastes better (customers opinion) but Bon presents better...maybe we need a new product called Vita-Bon to get the best of both worlds

So weve gotten two cartons of the stuff today, and a nice 30 min long discussion about it.

Weighing in at 98.5% fat free and about 3.8 grams of sugar per serving (100g?), it consists of some vegetable gum as well.. apparently not alot of that though.

Textures great, smooth, really flows well and a hanging tulip was pretty easy to pull. Taste wise, definitely lacks that nasty after taste nostalgic of Vitasoy original, quite smooth, bloody thumbs up! Looks a lot brighter in general, not completely white, but not so beige as other soy products.

All in all, Id have to say Im making the switch. A few of my regular customers who only drink soy and pretty pedantic about it, were fairly happy with it, as I gave them two drinks for the price of one! One with Vita original and another with this Cafe edition for the Barista, which is quite important to me, needless to say I didnt exactly throw this against Bonsoy, so Id like to avoid saying one is more preferred than the other; however, I will say that its definitely an improvement, coffee wise over its older counter-part.

Here is a nice little crappy video from my phone as well, enjoy the 1 megapixelness.

Had a quick look yesterday... Less sugar & less fat. I didnt check the type of sugar though. Best part it doesnt leave a nasty aftertaste anymore.  :P
Apparently they couldnt get it to me sooner, because of depot issues or something. But Im still anticipating trying this new Vitasoy Cafe, which will apparently show up 11am at my shops door.

I am a little excited though, just to see what its like in comparison to its brother (vitasoy original) and rival (bonsoy). They also brought my calcium and hi fibre plus, which I honestly didnt take a liking to.

We switched a few weeks ago. I didnt notice any obvious change in consistency either before or after heating. I havent tasted it though so I cant comment... I will however be reading the pack tomorrow morning to investigate the sugar content

Indeed Bonsoy is the best, I believe as well. To quote the lady herself, her very words when describing it was "It froths a little bit, higher protein value" which is a bit of absolute lol in my books.

But yea, one day left till I get my free samples. Then Ill post about it~ heh

One wonders that if they have improved it to make a cafe version, what did they think was wrong with the regular stuff- other than being ridiculously sweet, strong and gross? :-? :

Bonsoy for me if it has to be soy....

Can you tell us what the difference is? Is there anything different in the ingredients/fat content or processing that was explained to you about it?

Im pretty wary of things that are packaged as specific to a purpose (with a hefty price difference)... a lot of the time they are just the same thing in different marketing.

Like I was going to buy some ibuprofen for my back and looked at the "targeted for back pain" boxes... all the same content as the regular, but dearer. And the ads for the regular says it targets pain in specific areas, like say your back, so the point is - what is the benefit? Is there any difference at all or are you being sold some cotton-candy niche market filler thats okay so long as you dont question it?

Sorry, dont know this new one - but wanted to make a comment about Soy. When I was forced into being a soy coffee drinker, I found way too many cafes only stocked a soy milk full of cane sugar. For those of us who do not like cane sugar in our coffee, this ruined the coffee. It was like two sugars and I cannot stand any sugar in my coffee.

The original vitasoy, whilst good in all other respects, has heaps of cane sugar (well at least did about 3 years ago when I was stuck on soy). Cafes who only had this on offer did not get my business. My tip to cafe owners would be to try to find a quality soy without cane sugar - customers can always still add sugar as normal, but cannot take it out! Better yet stock two types (half as much of each, not twice the milk needing twice the space).

    Anyone used Vitasoy cafe edition?

During the week, I had the territory manager from National Foods come in to where Im currently working and talk to me about their new cafe edition lineup of milks, consisting of a new and improved Vitasoy.

Shes going to drop some samples off this coming monday, but has anyone already had any experience with it. Also not to mention Pura Cafe, but I dont think thats just popped up.

I already know what the original Vitasoy is like (quite good imho).
Working...
