  • 300 ml jug?

Morning all, looking for a good 300 ml stainless milk jug, the one Im using is almost 700 ml and I find it too wasteful, most of my requirements are for 1 or 2 drinks.
I notice http://www.coffeeparts.com/accessories/milk-jugs.html have a range, the smallest they list is 350 ml, any suggestions as to suppliers, types, quality, and suitability would be useful.

I think the 400ml one from coffeeparts ($10.45) would be fine for your requirements.

I use a smaller one when making coffees at home, which I think was listed as 300ml when I bought it from CP, but I have never measured the capacity.

I find that I only need milk to just under the spout and after texturing, I get pretty close to the top. If putting a bit more air in the milk (for a cappa), then I end up sailing very close to the top.

Postage is sometimes the issue with ordering onlines, so I get around this issue by making it worthwhile by buying 2 more group seals, some cleaning product, replacement heads for the pallo... you get the idea.

When trying to find jugs at various shops, I never had much luck finding ones with a good defined spout. My coffeeparts one certainly DOES have the defined spout.

      Brett.

Brother Baba Budan in Lt Bourke Street or Seven Seeds in Berkely St (I think it is) sell 300ml jugs for $9.95.
I bought one about a month ago, I was having the same issue.
Great fro one cup and perfect for latte art.

        Cheers

The Incasa range of jugs have a 300ml jug. Personally I prefer 400ml

I bought a fantastic 350ml jug from di bella at bowen hill son saturday. Brand was cafelat i believe.

I think it was the last one they had in stock but id imagine more will come in.

For a single drink its perfect... no more wasted milk!

              Mot-ta-ta, Mot-ta-ta, Mot-ta all the way....
Oh what fun it is to steam
In a little jug this way, Hey!

Love my miniature Mottas. Have 3 x 350ml and one each of the next two sizes up. Have used several 350ml, like this style the best due to its shape and therefore the additional tumbling it causes that standard shaped jugs dont do. Particularly good for lesser-steaming machines, but equally good on my VBM when the extra tumbling power is mastered. Particularly good for small volumes of milk. Oh yes, and available from site sponsors coffeeparts.com. Pricey, but worth every dollar IMO. Hence the 3. And its one of the few I found that is actually 350ml and not 400ml pretending its a 350ml.

When youre looking at jugs check their base circumference as this also has an effect on the effectiveness of the swirl. Smaller = faster.

Not sure about the jingle ID : but the 350 ml Motta was on my short list.
Your post tipped the scales, just ordered one from Coffeeparts, will let you know what I think of it in due course.

Tried the new 350 ml Motta jug over the weekend, lovely weight, and an absolute pleasure to use, cant say I got the best out of it, more practice needed.
The only down side when shmbo saw the invoice, the comment was ($50 FOR THAT >) calmed down a little when I mad her a cappa.

I have one, it is very nice.

It is well made, feels solid, nice handle etc.

However I have found that it can be difficult to get the temp just right if you are not 100% in your skills. The very thick walls make temperature a little more difficult to read instantly.

The spout is also a little rounded to do really great latte art. It pours very smoothly but lacks that sharp edge that can make all the difference.  I have a 300ml Incasa jug that is much better for latte art detail.

With practice of course you can achieve great results with almost any jugs.

I just switched from 600ml to 300ml jug and Im not liking the pour spout, its a bit shallow...

I have the same issue with the spout on my small caffelat jug. Might have to try bending the spout into a deeper shape.

The standard one from Coffee Parts works well for me.
