Re: Learnt a valuable lesson with milk for 1 latte !!!
Check out your machines is in shape. 300ml jug I find makes it a lot easier than using a 500ml jug half full.

Re: Learnt a valuable lesson with milk for 1 latte !!!
id be checking more than my steam wand if it was spitting waterOriginally posted by 696E757E787077791B0 link=1265882729/11#11 date=1269565103Have you checked your steam wand? It could be shooting water instead of steam
, i think due to the lower amount of milk......he turned it into a milkshake, and prolly overheated it too, pretty sure milk splits at high temps.......

Hes aerating to 36 degrees. Then immerses the wand to heat through to ~60 degrees.Originally posted by 537F7C797E4F47100 link=1265882729/8#8 date=126949074036 or 63?Originally posted by 5E444042435E46155F2D0 link=1265882729/7#7 date=126628731036 degrees Celsius
36 would be a bit cold

Re: Learnt a valuable lesson with milk for 1 latte !!!
Ive always used woolworths homebrand milk... should i not be for some reason? :Sand yes, the milk was Coles Milk as we had nothing else in the house.........
Greenman, do you find that when you steam milk in your 300ml jug (even done at a slow and gradual aeration) that it gets VERY frothy in the small jug, and hard to swirl and pour? I always steam my milk in a 400ml jug, and swirl it a bit (the foam is evident on top), but THEN pour it all into my 600ml jug and it looks perfect, shiny and glossy and is much easier to texture it through swirling and much easier to pour latte art... I slowly aerate it til about 36 degrees Celsius...Dutchie, I use the 300ml jug for single drinks and its spot on, no waste and ultra fast to texture Smiley Smiley
Whats your process with steaming it in a smaller jug and pouring? Cheers!

I now use Pura light milk cos the better half wants to reduce cholesterolOriginally posted by 5869687F7475791C0 link=1265882729/4#4 date=1266021252Apart from A2 and Norco milk, is there a more generic brand that seems to work more consistanty and not watery??
Perhaps I need to have this special milk and only have it for coffee...ummm
So not only is my coffee slowly taking over the kitchen benches, I am now taking over the fridge space too..........
Yes, dear, Im coming...........what colour earrings would you like??
I have no problems steaming any milk I am given
But I have never tried soy milk yet

Learnt a valuable lesson with milk for 1 latte !!!
OK so wife doesnt want a coffee tonight but i still do......
Unfortunately, not thinking, I pour in enough milk for a single cup in my new 600ml jug.
After initial streching of milk I place the tip of the steamer in about 1 cm and before I knew it, I had a jug filled filled to the top with froth and what looked like water........
Is this possible......and yes, the milk was Coles Milk as we had nothing else in the house.........
Should I make the milk in a smaller jug next time to avoid this ie 300ml or 400ml jug??
Is there is minimum amount of milk to use??Tags: None
