    Re: Steam Tip

Thanks for the answer!  Actually this is exactly the background information I needed.  This tip is on a Cimbali M27.  I was trying to replace the tip in your picture with the one I referenced.

Why am I doing this?  The problem I am running into is that the Nut assembly over the wand has fatigued and  that tips (your recommended one)  mounting base wont allow another (new) nut to slide over the tip base in order to mount it.

FYI:  Im in the US and lots of people here actually want Gobs (~18 oz.) of foam over their espresso shots, so yes, they are very useful tips.

Thanks again for the information, I do appreciate it!

PS: The part number you mention, Cimbali or another Manufacturer?  I dont have the depth of information you possess.

Just another ventricle device to make frothing easer  ;D
Yep - also called a frothing or turbo tip. Some call them steam tips with training wheels. Great if you like football size globs of foam on ya cappa.

They were mainly used on the earlier Cimbali "M" series machines but havent been available for around 15 years. Theyre on an M30 I have sitting in the shed.

But EdG -  Coffee parts have a version - part no. 700667 but neither these or any other of CPs tips will fit your machine unless you replace the complete arm. You will have more satisfying steaming success if you can find the tip on the right, but these are also very hard to find. And around $60 each if you can find them.

You can also purchase blank steam tips to copy the design of yours by drilling your own holes

    Steam Tip

I have a frothing tip that I would like to find more of!  The tip Is a larger one like a CMA large tip, but this one has a larger single hole in the bottom and two holes in the side of the assembly.  What this does is create a venturi effect and the milk is sucked in the sides of the  tip and ejected as foam into the milk.  Ive found this tip to be very useful but have been unsuccessful in trying to find it, anywhere.

Oh yes, Im using this on a Cimbali M-27, which also happens to be the same size wands as CMA, Faema, Lo San Marco, Cimbali and others.  In short its a common size tube.

Any ideas on where I might be able to find this are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Ed
